‘Great Washington, too, stands high aloft on his towering main-mast in Baltimore, and like one of Hercules’ pillars, his column marks that point of human grandeur beyond which few mortals will go.’ - Ishmael (Moby Dick)This quote is referring to the Washington Monument, in Baltimore. For some reason this quote leads me to believe that I can, nah will, do something great in life. Something great… what does this mean? Doctor Who would argue that the only thing required is being human. Maybe I’ll inspire someone, give a smile to somebody who needs it, or make something physical that everyone touches. A small gesture from everyone to each other and the world would would be a little better.Chronicling points in my life and taking the step to become more of a writer and healthier person in both body and mind.
